European Diversity Leadership Congress (EDIC) Presents Trans-Atlantic “Leadership Diversity DANDI” Awards during honors reception hosted by WIENER STÄDTISCHE at Ringturm

During the 2013 European Diversity Leadership Congress in Vienna Austria (April 25-26 2013) which was hosted by RAIFFEISEN-HOLDING NIEDERÖSTERREICH-WIEN the first Trans-Atlantic “Leadership DANDI” Awards (a.k.a. Diversity and Inclusion Awards) were presented during the WIENER STÄDTISCHE Honors reception. Trans-Atlantic DANDI Awards were presented to M.Sc. Psych. Regula Dietsche Head of the Diversity Center at the Institute for Leadership and Human Resource Management, Research Associate of Applied Research at the Center for Disability and Integration at the University of St. Gallen – CH. and Dr. Nils Jent, Professor and Diversity Center, Institute for Leadership and Human Resource Management, Director Applied Research at the Center for Disability and Integration, University of St. Gallen, Switzerland and Martijn De Liefde, Founding Director, The Kgotla Company.

M.Sc. Psych. Regula Dietsche and Prof. Dr. Nils Jent, are being recognised for their Working Partnership Model based on the four values: Mindfulness, Deceleration / Acceleration, Consistent resource orientation and Togetherness. This Inspiring Working Model not only part and parcel of the professional lives of Regula and Nils, but is also a Model which they are constantly exploring and reflection upon as a future-oriented working model for diversity professionals and companies. This built on the managing diversity concept of that Jent / Hilb titled “Diversity Optima“

In their everyday working lives, Nils Jent and Regula Dietsche are committed in theory and practice to fostering working partnerships of persons with and without disability. Their working partnership can be succinctly described with three terms: absolute presence, deceleration and transformation. This means that everyday diversity is the radical acceptance of the actual state. Only through the mindfulness towards one’s own competencies and limitations can the central question be answered: How do I deal with my resources in the wisest possible way?

Deceleration means: Things take place according to different measures. Their work, for instance, follows less the paradigm of efficiency and more the paradigm of effectiveness: “As well as possible, as quickly as necessary”. They assume a different perspective and view the limitations in the system in this way. For this reason, Applied Diversity is a laboratory for innovative approaches.

The transformation is the shifting of the horizon of possibilities, the extension of that which they think is possible – personally and socially.

Applied Diversity is the renunciation of thinking in terms of deficits. Not: in spite of; rather: Precisely because. And this with a great deal of humour.

Ich kann Ihnen auch versichern, dass wir uns als Arbeitgeber angesprochen fühlen, inskünftig bei Stellenbesetzungen weiter zu denken, als das was wir kennen und gewohnt sind.
